New York Writers Alliance

Together we’ll make you a better writer

Why US?
Like many industries, the book business is undergoing major changes. As staffs shrink and markets shift, editors often don’t have the time to devote to manuscripts and marketing and publicity teams have limited resources for new writers. Having survived all aspects of this new publishing process, we know how to get your work the attention it deserves — from coming up with a saleable pitch to finding the best representation and ultimately making sure you book becomes a part of the cultural conversation in the major media markets. We’ve made some mistakes, found our own way, and bring the experience to every project we take on.

“Shari turned me from a writing hobbyist into a published novelist! She is a fantastic teacher–fun, smart and a great motivator. Not only did Shari teach me how to write better prose, she taught me how to tell a better story.”
– Jeffrey Onorato, author of The SIN of Addison Hall

“Shari helped me to focus the tone and structure during the early stages of writing. That foundation influenced the book as a whole and made it more salable.”
– Thomas Kohnstamm, author of Do Travel Writers Go to Hell?: A Swashbuckling Tale of High Adventures, Questionable Ethics, and Professional Hedonism

“Anna’s advice was as practical as it was insightful and I felt that I was directly benefitting from her experience as a published author. I was also very pleased with how accessible she was during the process, and how quickly she got back to me when I submitted more material or asked follow-up questions.”
– Scott Griebel, Ph.D. (manuscript still in progress)
